Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies

What you'll need:

  • Stand or hand mixer
  • 2 -3 bowls of varied sizes
  • Silicon spatula or spoon
  • Parchment paper & a large freezer bag (if you want to prepare the dough ahead of time and bake later)
  • Cookie sheet

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 sticks of butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Step 1. In a medium bowl, combine your dry ingredients (flour, salt, and baking soda).
Step 2. In a larger bowl, cream together your sugars, butter, and vanilla extract adding the eggs last.
Step 3. Combine your wet and dry ingredients. Incorporate the flour mixture slowly.
Step 4. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts. Stir the mixture with a spoon or silicon spatula.

You are now ready to bake or freeze your cookie dough for future baking. If you are freezing the dough, pour it out onto a piece of parchment paper and work the dough into the shape of a tube. Wrap the tube of dough in parchment and place it in a large freezer bag. This cookie dough can now be stored in the freezer until you're ready to bake.
