Celebrity style profile

Tracee Ellis Ross

I've been Obsessed with Tracee since she played Joan Carol Clayton on Girlfriends. I would beg my mother to let me wear the things I'd seen Joan wear on the show, but they weren't always age-appropriate. I recently bought up half the Free City x Gap collection because Joan would always wear Free City tees and sweats on the show. My interest in her style began with her Fall 2006 Vibe Vixen cover. She was serving up endless looks. It wasn't until about a year later that I discovered that prior to acting, Tracee had a career as a model and as a contributing fashion editor for Mirabella and New York Magazine.
She's also the daughter of my idol and a fashion icon in her own right, Diana Ross, who I've been captivated by since the age of 7. Tracee Ellis Ross blends the vintage looks of her mother into modern fashion so effortlessly. Her style is relaxed & elegant but sexy & edgy at the same time. Her approach to style is fearless. She does not shy away from prints and texture. She looks good in any color. Her sneaker game is phenomenal. Her shoe collection is SICK. If you're not familiar with her style, I'm not sure where you've been but check out her website her or follow her on Instagram.

Holiday Gift Guide

Are you a last minute shopper? No worries. I have suggestions! I've compiled a list of trendy gifts at various price points for the thrifty shopper, the big spender, and anyone in between.

Shades of blue

There's nothing I love more than denim. Denim shirts, skirts, dresses, bags, and jackets. I have a chambray sofa and Pinterest boards dedicated to denim furniture and decor. I can't get enough. There are stacks of jeans in my closet and somehow I find reasons to buy more. I'm currently eyeing an A&F denim jumpsuit and a pair of embroidered skinny jeans at the GAP. I'm also on a mission to bring back the denim mini. It was a staple in my closet from at least 2002 - 2010. I wore them everywhere and with everything. The changing seasons couldn't stop me. Denim is and has always been a way of life. If you love denim too, share your denim love and tag us #FBGDenimLove.

Back to School In Style

If your school was anything like mine, the first week of school was always a fashion show where everyone showed off their new fall wardrobes.

2016 Fall bts

School supplies shopping was one of my favorite parts of back to school shopping.

If you’ve read my bio, then you know that I’m actively pursuing a career in fashion while working as a laboratory technician. Fashion has always been important to me and I’ve always wanted to be involved in the fashion industry. I recently had the opportunity to style a photo shoot and I’m psyched for you all to see the looks.

Click on the photos above to browse through more pictures from the shoot.

4th of July

Independence Day is rapidly approaching and if you've been looking for some outfit inspiration for barbecues and pool parties, look no further.

Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are the quintessential summer bottom. Here I've paired them with a trendy off the shoulder top and sherbet colored Adidas for a fun summer ensemble.

Date Night

For me summer date nights are all about simplicity. This look is effortless but eye-catching.

Summer Wedding Season

Here's what trending for Summer 2016: Lace or laser cut midi dresses, block heels, florals, satin slip dresses, and red heeled sandals. If you're a non-traditional girl, a backless or strapless jumpsuit is also a great option.

Things I am Currently Obsessing Over

1.     The new Coach Disney Collection. There are actual leather handbags with Mickey Mouse ears. Who doesn’t need this? I personally want the red crossbody satchel with Mickey ears.

2.     Stan Smith Adidas. I bought a rose gold pair in February and I’ve been hunting for more of them since.

3.     Adidas Tubular in Blush and Khaki Green. Just those two colors. I mean I like the shoe as a whole but I’ve specifically obsessed with those colors.

4.     EVERY item in the newest Gucci collection. I’ve been obsessing since the fashion show and have been waiting for things to be available for purchase. No I can’t afford it, but that’s not the point we’re trying to make here. I AM OBSESSED.

5.     White sneakers. Specifically, Converse All Stars, Jack Purcell’s, Supergas, and this one pair of Gucci sneakers with beautiful embroidery and beading.

6.     Handbag charms. There is a Tory Burch crab pouch/bag charm that I am in love with but I am in no way interested in spending $95 on a PURSE CHARM. All of the Rebecca Minkoff charms are both affordable and cool. They were on sale at Nordstrom for $17 so I bought SEVERAL.

7.     Bikes. Every now and then I wander into the bike section of Target and drool over Schwinn bikes I’ll never buy because I live in the South and NOTHING is within a reasonable biking distance in my neighborhood. But a friend of mine recently got the most adorable Huffy Cruiser and I was instantly obsessed with bikes again. I’d say I’m buying myself a bike for my birthday but I bought my birthday gift back in February. Sooo maybe Christmas?? I’m thinking a red cruiser or maybe blue but only if there’s a navy blue option.

So maybe I need these things, maybe I don’t but, I’m obsessed with them right now. What are you obsessing over?
