We Stan Jaggie!!
Excuse me for a moment while I take in the fact that Grey’s Anatomy fans are outright prejudice against Jackson and Maggie’s relationship. Well, excuse the fuck outta me! After scouring some recaps of part 2 of the season finale I did something I typically never do when reading articles- read the comments. I typically never scroll down to the comment section because frankly, I do not care what other Americans think in general because the majority of Americans read at a 4th-grade level. So that tells me everything I need to know about the general population. That said, I scrolled down on one article on EW.com and those fuckers were so bitter over the Jackson and April break up-yes STILL. April was cool or whatever, but nobody was checking for her. Most of the commenters noted that Jackson and Maggie” don’t have “chemistry”. On what planet don’t those two have chemistry? They followed up by saying “Maggie is dry” “Maggie isn’t opened minded and Jackson deserves better.” While Maggie is an OCD planner and is very meticulous, I mean of course she would be, she was a child prodigy and she is the head of a medical department at a renowned hospital at 20-something years old. If anything, I think the fact that Jackson and Maggie are both awkward people beefs up their chemistry even more.
I wouldn’t say that I am a “fangirl” of Jaggie but their relationship along with the relationship of their parents, are a part of the few reasons why I still watch the show. Honestly, while we are at it, who really thinks DeLuca and Meredith Grey have chemistry outside of a flickering sexual flame? They are cute for a good time “right now” couple but I’d really like to see Meredith partnered with someone older than her, someone with more dimension and depth from life. Let’s be honest, Deluca is still wet behind the ear and I think he’d be much more interesting in a relationship with someone his age even if they have more life experience than him.
Something I really appreciate about Jaggie is watching Maggie relate and work out her own reservations having a partner that is the complete opposite of her. I think she and Jackson balance that well while still having a healthy relationship- I don’t see either of them disrespectfully forcing anything onto the other. I can’t say that about most relationships I’ve witnessed on tv or on Grey’s Anatomy for that matter.
