Why Are All the Girls Western?

Recently there’s been a strong affinity towards western [gothic] aesthetic with a twist of afro-futurism in the Black girl indie music crowd and I’m absolutely living for all of it. There has long been a rich history of Black people amplifying the tradition of the ranchers. I appreciate that these women are telling a past/present/future story through their attire and creative direction.
